Row by row crochet blanket

When covid 19 hit, I decided I needed a project to occupy my mind. I spent a lot of time looking at patterns and decided to try something I've never done before. It started with a rough sketch and I went from there. Most of the yarns were what I  already had so I wouldn't need to go shopping with social distancing. Most of the patterns  are from the mypicot website and spitspot dainty rose squares are top and bottom. It measures 105 x 100cm. I hope you like it.

Rectangle granny blanket

I made this for the recent Knit 4 charity CAL. I decided to make each round a different colour. In the caravan i only have a shopping bag of yarn, so I tried to make it look scrappy by mixing the colours, then added a rainbow border. Also another pair of toe up mountain form slippers.

Magic cat blankets

my favourite
I recently joined a facebook group called magic blankets,
it inspired me to make a blanket using my scraps of yarn.
Knit4charity were asking for cat blankets 30cm x 42cm
for the Cat Protection Society.
Each cat goes home with its own blanket,
which I think is a lovely idea.
The basic premise of a magic blanket is using scraps
which are joined using a magic join and 2 strands
of 8 ply yarn worked together.
I used a 6mm hook and 58 chain,
treble into the 4th chain from hook
Then a V stitch into every 3rd chain,
the next rows are a v stitch
into every ch space for a total of 21 rows.
They are quick and easy to do while watching tv
and each one is unique and i get to play with colours
a selection of the blankets
